Peas and Garlic

Even though I have a new and improved blog maybe I will post a picture here now and then.

At least I have followers here to see it. :,)

This is Margaret McKee's Baking Pea growing in my garlic patch. I can't wait till this one is ready for making soup!

Bees

Where are the bees? I a little worried that I have no pollinators. I have not seen a single one on my two small Asian pear trees. Now I'm on a mission to create bee habitat on the property. I want to keep track of how many different bee species I can attract each year and if I get really ambitious identify as many insects as I can. I'm also dreaming up some nicknames for this place. What do you think of Confluence Micro Farm?

Not enough time to get ready for spring

Over sixty degrees outside today. Worked hard all weekend but only managed to get one variety of pea planted. I like the looks of this Margaret McKee's Baking Pea. I have no idea what this pea will taste like but I bet its good with pork. I should have took a picture. Guess we will have to wait till harvest time. I did plant some peas earlier but they are not doing much yet. I got curious though to see of these old seeds would sprout at all so I dug up a couple. Yep, little sprout. I feel better now.
